TPCC operates in the Turku University Hospital campus. Next to the hospital, basic science laboratories are located in Medisiina D building and Biocity (https://biocityturku.fi/). This allows excellent collaboration between the clinicians and basic researchers.
Turku University hospital is a tertiary care cancer center. The hospital has a total of 900 beds and is the center of South-West Hospital district.
Urological surgery takes place in the A-hospital where daily surgeries are done in three operating rooms. Surgeries include all types of operations from endourological procedures to laparoscopic and robotic operations as well as open surgeries.
Unit of pathology studies tissue and neuropathological samples, cytological cell samples and performs autopsies. Immunohistochemical staining and molecule pathological study of histological and cytological laboratory studies are performed in the unit.
Biobank samples are collected in the hospital in connection with the treatment from people who have given their consent to the biobank. Auria Biobank provides samples and related clinical data for health promoting biomedical research.
